E-Books auf den Kindle (Fire) übertragen…

Es gibt so einige Hürden bei den „geschlossenen“ Geräten der Gemüseabteilung :), das ist hinreichend bekannt.
Der Kindle gehört ganz sicher auch in diese Abteilung – davor sei jeder gewarnt.

Wer nun doch dem Reiz des Preises verfallen ist und einen Kindle-Fire sein eigen nennt, wird erschrocken feststellen, daß
das installierte Android kein vollwertiges ist- hier hat Amazon eine Hürde eingebaut.
Spätestens, wenn das USB- Kabel angeschlossen wird, und man seine Bücher sucht, wird man diese wohl kaum finden.
Die Verzeichnisstruktur schein jedoch in der ersten Näherung logisch, nur haben Übertragungen in diese manchmal nicht den erwünschen Erfolg.

Um jetzt eigene Bücher (mobi- Format) zu übertragen und zu lesen geht man wie folgt vor (Originalauszüge aus diversen Internetbeiträgen):

Per Download aus dem Internet:

Downloaded eBooks and PDFs – If you download a MOBI ebook or PDF with the web browser and want it to show up on the homescreen carrousel and in the personal documents section, you need to use a file manager (#20) to move the downloaded file from the “Download” folder to the “Documents” folder. It will show up once you leave the homescreen and then come back to it.

File Manager – The Kindle Fire doesn’t come with any file management software, which can make things a lot easier if you need to move files or access folders you can’t normally get access to. My favorite is ES File Explorer, and it’s free in the Amazon appstore. Highly recommended.

Anmerkung: wie weiter unten beschrieben, kann man die Bücher auch in das Verzeichniss „Books“ bzw, „Documents“ verschieben. Die o.g. Beschreibung der Verzeichnisse bezieht sich auf das Homescreen Caroussel.

Per Email an den Kindle senden:

Dokumente mit Ihrer Kindle-E-Mail-Adresse senden

Ihrem Kindle Fire ist eine einmalige E-Mail-Adresse zugeordnet. Sie können persönliche Dokumente an Ihr Gerät senden, indem Sie diese Dateien an Ihre Kindle-E-Mail-Adresse senden….

So können Sie Ihre Kindle-E-Mail-Adresse auf dem Kindle Fire HD einsehen:

• Tippen sie auf der Startseite auf Dokumente. Ihre Kindle-E-Mail-Adresse wird unter Cloud angezeigt.

Per USB:

Transferring Your Files by USB

If you use a micro-usb cable and connect it to your computer, you can transfer files to and from your Kindle just like it was an external hard drive. Place any .mobi files in the Books folder, and place .pdf and other formats in the Documents folder. Once you’ve added your files, you may need to restart the Kindle to get it to recognize your new books.

Transferring Using Dropbox

I usually don’t like to fiddle with plugging my Kindle into my laptop, so I use Dropbox to both store my library and transfer my eBooks to my devices.

1. If you use Dropbox, you’ll want to navigate to your eBook file and rather than just tapping to open it, you’ll want to select the triangle to the right of the file name.
2. Next, tap Export.
3. Choose Save to SD Card (your Kindle doesn’t actually have an SD card, but this gets you to the internal storage space).
4. Select either Books (for .mobi files) or Documents (for .pdf, .txt, .doc, and other files).
5. Tap Export.

Once you’ve done this, you should restart your Kindle Fire. Your books will appear after that. If your book does not appear, double check that you waited for the book to fully copy to your Kindle’s hard drive and double check that you chose the correct folder for the file format.

Es schein also so, daß man den Kindle nach dem Transfer einmal ausschalten und neu starten muss, damit er die neuen Dateien erkennt !!!
